About the Exhibition:

The cyclical change of fashion also follows that of the seasons in nature. Fashion, like nature, is determined by the inevitable sequence of blossoming and death. At the moment of its beginning, its end is already predetermined. Yet it is one of the contrasts of fashion that it, which is precisely associated with change and transience, attempts in its works to overcome it by using natural motifs in nature. to overcome them by recreating natural motifs in various forms to outlast decay. This is particularly noticeable in the area of flowers, which as embroidery or recreated in fabric and feathers overcome the actually inevitable withering.

The exhibition aims to show nature motifs in designs of preferably young designers, but also inspirations by nature in traditional trades such as fabric weavers, fabric printers and embroidery. Furthermore, innovative and unusual examples from the field of traditional crafts such as those of flower makers and feather processors will be presented. The aim is also to recall the decisive importance of these branches of the arts and crafts for fashion and the success of their creations, and at the same time to document the whole spectrum of their inventiveness and imagination, the transfer performance.

Another theme is new materials extracted from nature and used in fashion. Young designers explore the possibilities of algae, fungi, bacteria, of various natural fibers such as pineapple and cellulose. The spectrum of experimentation is almost unlimited.
